งานประกาศผลรางวัลออสการ์ ครั้งที่ 96 โดย สถาบันศิลปะและวิทยาการภาพยนตร์ (AMPAS) จัดขึ้นเมื่อวันที่ 10 มีนาคม 2024 ที่ โรงละครดอลบี ใน ฮอลลีวูด ลอสแอนเจลิส AMPAS ได้มอบรางวัลของสถาบันฯ (โดยทั่วไปเรียกว่ารางวัลออสการ์) ใน 23 สาขาเพื่อเป็นเกียรติแก่ภาพยนตร์ที่ออกฉายในปี 2023 พิธีการซึ่งถ่ายทอดสดทางโทรทัศน์ในสหรัฐอเมริกาโดย เอบีซี นักแสดงตลก จิมมี คิมเมล เป็นพิธีกรรายการนี้เป็นครั้งที่ 4 ต่อจาก พิธีครั้งที่ 89 ในปี 2017, พิธีครั้งที่ 90 ในปี 2018 และ พิธีครั้งที่ 95 ในปี 2023

จิมมี่ คิมเมล เป็นพิธีกรงานประกาศผลรางวัลออสการ์ครั้งที่ 96 ซึ่งนับเป็นครั้งที่สี่ของเขา

ในวันที่ 15 พฤศจิกายน ค.ศ. 2023 จิมมี คิมเมล ได้รับการประกาศให้เป็นพิธีกรของงาน เขากลับมาเป็นพิธีกรงานระกาศผลรางวัลออสการ์เป็นปีที่สี่และเป็นครั้งที่สองติดต่อกัน ในวันเดียวกันนั้นเอง ภรรยาของเขา มอลลี่ แม็กเนียร์นีย์ ได้รับการประกาศให้กลับมารับหน้าที่ผู้อำนวยการพิธีนี้

เมื่อวันที่ 30 พฤศจิกายน 2023 เอบีซี และสถาบันฯ ประกาศว่าเวลาเริ่มต้นของพิธีจะขยับขึ้นหนึ่งชั่วโมงเป็น 16:00 น. ตามเวลาแปซิฟิก การเปลี่ยนแปลงนี้ทำให้สามารถออกอากาศรายการไพรม์ไทม์ ได้ครึ่งชั่วโมง การเริ่มต้นพิธีล่าช้าไปหกนาทีเนื่องจากการประท้วงสงครามอิสราเอล–ฮามาส นอกโรงละคร
