นิทาน อารัมภกถา (พม่า: နိဒါန အာရမ္ဘကထာ; แปลว่า คำนำของตำนาน) เป็นบันทึกเหตุการณ์ภาษามอญ คาดว่าเป็นส่วนหนึ่งของบทความขนาดใหญ่กว่าที่เรียกว่า Ramann'-uppatti-dipaka ("การบรรยายเกี่ยวกับต้นกำเนิดของรามัญเทสะ") สำเนาของ นิทาน อารัมภกถา มีอายุย้อนไปถึงคริสต์ศตวรรษที่ 18 แม้สำเนาจะระบุว่าต้นฉบับตัวเขียนถูกเรียบเรียงขึ้นในปี 900 ตามศักราชพม่า (ค.ศ. 1538/39) นอกจากนี้อย่างน้อยบางส่วนอาจเขียนขึ้นในช่วงต้นคริสต์ศตวรรษที่ 17
