ศกุนตลา เทวี

ศกุนตลา เทวี (เบงกอล: শকুন্তলা দেবী; Shakuntala Devi) (4 พฤศจิกายน 1929 – 21 เมษายน 2013) เป็นนักคณิตศาสตร์ผู้เป็นชาวอินเดีย เธอเป็นที่รู้จักในชื่อ "มนุษย์เครื่องคิดเลข" (Human Computer) เธอได้พยายามในการสร้างให้การคำนวณเลขคณิตเป็นเรื่องง่ายสำหรับเด็กนักเรียน ด้วยความสามารถของเธอ ทำให้เธอมีรายชื่อปรากฏใน ฉบับปี 1982 เทวีเป็นเด็กที่ฉลาดกว่าเด็กในรุ่นวัยเดียวกัน และเธอได้สาธิตความสามารถทางการคำนวณของเธอที่ ทั้ง ๆ ที่เธอไม่เคยได้รับการศึกษาในระบบมาก่อน

ชีวิตช่วงต้น

ศกุนตลา เทวี เกิดที่เบงคลูรู รัฐกรณาฏกะ ในตระกูลพราหมณ์กันนาดา บิดาของเธอ C V Sundararaja Rao ประกอบอาชีพทำราวห้อยโหน, ฝึกสิงโต และแสดงเดินบนเชือกและเป็นนักมายากลในคณะละครสัตว์ เขาค้นพบว่าลูกสาวของเธอมีความสามารถในการจดจำตัวเลขขณะที่เขาสอนการเล่นไพ่ตอนเธออายุเพียง 3 ขวบ บิดาของเธอลาออกจากคณะละครสัตว์และพาเธอเดินสายโรดโชว์เพื่อแสดงให้เห็นถึงความสามารถในการคำนวณของเธอ เรามีความสามารถนี้ทั้งที่ไม่เคยศึกษาในระบบ ต่อมาเมื่อเธออายุ 6 ปี เธอได้แสดงถึงความสามารถในการคำนวณทางคณิตศาสตร์ที่
