ภาษามารา (Mara language) มีผู้พูดทั้งหมด 42,000 คน พบในอินเดีย 22,000 ตน (พ.ศ. 2540) ในรัฐไมโซรัม มีผู้พูดในพม่า 20,000 คน (พ.ศ. 2537)ในหุบเขาลูไช จัดอยู่ในตระกูลภาษาจีน-ทิเบต กลุ่มภาษาทิเบต-พม่า สาขากูกี-ชีน–นาคา สาขาย่อยกูกี-ชีน ผู้พูดภาษานี้ในอินเดียจะพูดภาษาไมโซหรือภาษาอังกฤษได้ และมีการสอนในโรงเรียนประถมศึกษาตั้งแต่ พ.ศ. 2521 เขียนด้วยอักษรละติน เรียงประโยคแบบประธาน-กรรม-กริยา
