ในวันที่ 15 ตุลาคม 2021 เซอร์เดวิด เอมิส สมาชิกรัฐสภาอังกฤษ (MP) ประจำเขต สมาชิกพรรคพรรคอนุรักษนิยม เสียชีวิตหลังถูกแทงหลายครั้งด้วยมีด ขณะใน ผู้ก่อเหตุเป็นชายวัย 25 ปี ชาวอังกฤษ ซึ่งในระหว่างการจัดสินคดี เขาอ้างเหตุจูงใจว่า "เกี่ยวข้องกับความขัดแย้งในซีเรีย"
