ประวัติ
เมื่ออิสราเอลถอนทัพออกจากไซนายใน ค.ศ. 1982 เมืองเราะฟะห์ถูกแบ่งออกเป็นส่วนอียิปต์และกาซา ทำให้ครอบครัวถูกแบ่งแยกด้วยรั้วลวดหนาม ใจกลางเมืองถูกทั้งอิสราเอล และอียิปต์ทำลายเพื่อสร้างเขตกันชนขนาดใหญ่
